A research fund awarded to the BETTER project

An amount of $ 3 million was recently awarded to Dr. Rémi Rabasa-Lhoret Endocrinologist at the CHUM and Clinical Scientist at the IRCM, and Anne-Sophie Brazeau, Assistant Professor at the School of Human Nutrition at McGill University, for the BETTER project by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). This amount will establish a registry of people with type 1 diabetes in Quebec in order to draw an overall picture of this population. Read the IRCM press release.

From this registry will come various studies that make use of technology and new therapies to reduce hypoglycemia, a burden for people living with type 1 diabetes. All stages of the project are developed with a committee of patient-partners. Learn more about the BETTER project.
